2. Description of Service

Our Service provides a platform to (a) read, search, and study the Bible, and (b) interact with an AI assistant for informational and study purposes (the "AI Chat"). Registered users can save personal notes, bookmarks, and highlights ("User-Generated Content") to their accounts.

3. AI Assistant Disclaimer

The AI Chat is a tool for exploration and study, not a substitute for professional theological, pastoral, or academic advice. We do our best to ground the AI's answers in the biblical text, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or theological soundness of any response.

  • The AI's responses are generated by a third-party model (Google Gemini) and are based on the data provided to it.
  • The AI may "hallucinate" or produce information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • You are solely responsible for verifying the AI's responses against the provided citations and other scholarly sources.
  • We are not liable for any decisions, actions, or interpretations you make based on information provided by the AI Chat.

4. User Accounts

  • Account Creation: You must provide a valid email address and create a password to use the personalization features.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, at our sole discretion, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain all ownership rights to the personal notes, highlights, and bookmarks you create. By saving this content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display this content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We will not share, sell, or publicly display your User-Generated Content without your explicit permission.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any local, state, national, or international law.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm another person.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
  • Introduce viruses, trojans, or other malicious code.
  • Use the AI Chat for any purpose that is unlawful, defamatory, or hateful.
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to discover the source code or underlying models of the Service.
  • Abuse or excessively burden our systems or misuse the AI features.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (A) YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE; (B) ANY CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; OR (C) ANY RELIANCE ON INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE.

Bible translations used in this Service may be sourced from open or licensed editions. Scripture text remains the property of its respective copyright holders.

11. Prohibited Data Use

You may not use any part of the Service, including AI outputs or Bible content retrieval, to train AI models, build competing products, or perform large-scale scraping or data extraction.

12. Governing Law

In the event of a dispute, you agree to first contact us to attempt to resolve the matter informally before pursuing legal action.

13. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, you may not create an account or submit personal information.
